Asghar Hayat appointed as new chief of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police

The police chief of
Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been replaced.
According to the notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat
on Thursday, Akhtar Hayat has been appointed as the new
Inspector General (IG) Police of
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Moazzam Jah Ansari took charge
of the post of IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in June 2021.
It should be noted that a few days ago on January 30, there
was a big suicide blast in the police headquarters of
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which more than
100 people were killed.Most of those killed in
the blast were police personnel.

A day ago, in a meeting presided
over by the Chief Election Commissioner, former
IG Moazzam Jah Ansari had said that there is a
shortage of 27,000 personnel for the election in
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He said that the help of army
FC will be required for the election.
